The District Attorney Retail Theft Program applies to both shoplifting and employee theft.  The program helps merchants:

• Recover security costs
• Reduce Shrinkage

How It Works.

Easy for Merchants

1. Offer Program
   • To any eligible offender
   • As alternative to police response
2. Fax Referral Form
   • Provides basic case information to Prosecutor
   • Fax to Prosecutor Program at (866) 397-8630
3. Release offender
   • Program contacts offender directly to initiate Program requirement

Tough on Offenders

1. Pay Restitution for Merchants
   • If lost/damaged goods
2. Pay fee to merchant
   • Reimbursement of security costs ($100-$150)
3. Pay for and attend counseling
   • Proven to reduce repeat offenders

Offenders who fail to comply are reviewed for Prosecution.  For ineligible offenders, call Police.
